Welcome to ORNAA

I am excited to be writing this Message as newly elected President of ORNAA. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jill Clark, and I am from Red Deer, Alberta. I work at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre as a frontline staff member. I have been an OR Nurse for 17 years and am truly passionate about Perioperative Nursing and supporting OR Nurses in our profession. I am the current President of CORNA (Central Operating Room Nurses Association) and have been in this role for 5 years. I have sat on the ORNAA Board for the last 5 years, holding positions of Secretary, President-Elect and now President.

I wanted to extend a Congratulations and Thank-You to the Member of the 2023-2024 ORNAA Board established at our June Meeting:

  • Past-President: Bryana Hahn (NCORNA)
  • Webmaster: Randi Galenzoski (SORNA)
  • Treasurer: Melissa Ronan (SCORNA)
  • Education Director: Helen MacKay (NCORNA)
  • Secretary: Heather Lanouette (NCORNA)
  • Conference Liaison: Gloria Nemecek (SORNA)
  • Alberta Director: Bryana Hahn (NCORNA)
  • District Representative(s): Toni Milos (SCORNA)

I look forward to working with these amazing and passionate individuals in the future and appreciate their ongoing assistance and support.

I also want to thank those outgoing members of the ORNAA Board, who have ended their terms of service and are moving to other endeavours: Melissa Callaghan (NORNA President) and Annie Miao (SCORNA President). We appreciate your time and commitment to this organization and to Perioperative Nursing.

I also want to Thank Past-President Bryana Hahn for paving the path for the last 2 years, and for supporting me as I transition into my new role.

As ORNAA President, I hope to provide compassionate and strong leadership as we navigate the next 2 years. I hope that our future will include positive changes to support our Members and OR Nurses as a whole. My goals for my time as President include ongoing support and mentorship of Board Members, promotion of ORNAA and District Membership, forging positive relationships with our Districts, and to continue to provide quality education opportunities for perioperative nurses.

I am looking forward to the next 2 years and the amazing journey I have been given the opportunity and privilege to be on.

Thank YOU!!!

Jill Clark
